Life Time Value (LTV) is a crucial metric for Shopify App Developers. It represents the total revenue a customer is expected to generate during their lifetime as a subscriber to your app. Understanding LTV helps developers make informed decisions about customer acquisition costs, marketing strategies, and product development.

Simply put, LTV is the average amount of money each customer is expected to spend on your app over the duration of their relationship with your business. It is a key indicator of the long-term value of your customer base.

How We Calculate Life Time Value

LTV is calculated by dividing the Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) by the User Churn rate. The formula looks like this:

LTV = ARPU / Churn Rate

For example, if the ARPU is $100 and the churn rate is 5%, the LTV would be calculated as follows:

LTV = $100 / 0.05 = $2,000

This calculation means that, on average, each customer is expected to generate $2,000 in revenue over the course of their subscription.
